We’ve all heard it before, true life is often stranger than fiction. You’ll catch more flies with honey… Among the many inventions we owe to the ancient Egyptians, human decoys is likely not one that instantly comes to mind, yet Pharaoh Pepi II would routinely have his nearby servants smeared with honey to attract flies away from him. Creative thinking, to say the least.
Abraham Lincoln, heavyweight champion. Yes, that’s right, good ‘ol Honest Abe was a champion wrestler before becoming a politician, and standing at 6’4” (the tallest president to serve to this day) he was certainly a force to be reckoned with. While there’s no official record of Lincoln's wrestling career, legend has it that he only lost one of his over 300 bouts and was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall Of Fame in 1992.

One of the hottest trends of the Victorian era was the photography of dead relatives, who were usually placed in lifelike poses, and often photographed alongside the living. Weird.
